WHO WE ARE

Spectrumatch is a Greater Toronto Area–based business that provides coaching and matchmaking services to individuals on the autism spectrum, as well as to the broader neurodiverse population. Our goal is to offer neurodivergent individuals educational and practical opportunities to enhance their dating and social skills.

    Colin Sheridan

Founder, Lead Matchmaker, Chaperone, Course Instructor

Colin is a professional matchmaker and a member of the IAPO International Association of Professional Matchmakers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Psychoanalytic Studies. Colin has worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorder as an ABA Therapist for over 10 years, and draws on this experience for inspiration in creating Spectrumatch.

Through my time as an ABA therapist, I have witnessed first-hand how challenging dating and relationships can be for many on the autism spectrum. While many of the ideas and concepts involved in romantic relationships may come naturally to neurotypical individuals, it can be more complex for neurodivergent individuals. This is not for lack of interest, but rather a lack of opportunity and educational accessibility. My primary goal in launching Spectrumatch is to provide an environment where neurodivergent individuals can learn about romantic relationships, and gain real-world practical dating experience.

“Throughout my career, I have been deeply passionate about supporting youth and young adults on the autism spectrum, with a strong focus on enhancing their social lives and everyday experiences. My goal is to help create inclusive environments where neurodivergent individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.”

“I am genuinely passionate about facilitating personal and academic growth in others, and I take great pride in the positive outcomes that result from thoughtful, evidence-based teaching practices. By creating inclusive, supportive learning environments, I aim to foster meaningful connections and promote social well-being. My mission is to empower neurodivergent individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and real-world skills needed to navigate dating and relationships.”

What We Offer

  • Aimed at providing opportunities for neurodivergent individuals to go on dates to find a romantic partner. After providing relevant information by filling out an intake form and completing a background check, members will be matched through our private, off-line database by a professional matchmaker, and then contacted with date details.

  • Aimed at matching two individuals with the intent of creating a friendship based on shared interests and compatibility. This service is FREE when purchasing a yearly membership.

  • Aimed at providing the member with an option for additional support while on a date. This would involve an experienced, qualified individual in this field accompanying the member on the date. The chaperone would not be directly beside the member, but would be nearby likely just out of sight, available to be contacted to quickly diffuse anxieties surrounding the date and deal with any potential emergencies. Chaperone service is not covered with a yearly membership, and comes at an additional cost per hour.

  • Aimed at providing educational opportunities to members through a 10-week course on dating and relationships. The course touches on various subjects including dating etiquette, flirting, interpreting body language, date planning, and more. The course is FREE when purchasing a yearly membership.

FAQs

  • Yes, all of our services can be purchased separately. A FriendFinder membership can be purchased for $249 annually, but access to Chaperone Service is limited by availability, as priority is given to All-Inclusive Members.

  • Great question! After you have signed up for the service, completed all necessary forms, and made payment, your annual membership will begin when participate in your first service, whether it is the Dating & Relationships course, FriendFinder, or matchmaking service.

For example, if you signed up on September 1st, completed all required forms and made payment on September 5th, and were matched on your first date on September 20th, your membership will expire on September 20th of the following year).
